When I first spoke to Claire & Mike, they rang me out of the blue and I had covid! It seemed to break the ice though and we had a fun conversation all about festivals, music, love, life and parenting. We met up for their engagement shoot in Fingle Woods a couple of months later and spent the whole day together chatting! It was a real pleasure to capture the love & connection between these two souls. I knew their wedding would be a very special day.
Westcott Barton is the quintessential Devon wedding venue, with a rustic country barn at the centre. It was a boiling hot August bank holiday day so the cool interior was very welcome! After a moving ceremony, guests headed outside onto the sprawling lawns to enjoy an afternoon of sunshine & celebration. I managed to grab a few lovely shots of Claire & Mike in the woodlands on site before the wedding breakfast began. Then it was into an evening of full on party – these guys know how to have fun!! It was a real joy getting to know Claire & Mike and sharing these special moments with them.
They left such a lovely review too – thanks guys! “We had no hesitation in having Emma as our special guest to immerse herself into our wedding. She struck the balance of being there and relaxed in her approach to taking the shots that mattered. The storyline was such a blur for Claire and I, so to have every moment captured as we wished was truly amazing. Having spent a day with her and her daughter plus our crazy dogs on our engagement celebration we knew that all would be great on the day, of which it was!! Thanks Emma!! X”
