FAQs

Below I have answered a few of the most popular wedding related FAQs.

With that said, every wedding is unique so please feel free to get in touch and ask anymore questions. If it’s pricing you want to know, my wedding packages can be found here.

Don’t worry – most people feel exactly the same as you! Therefore I always recommend booking the full day package with an engagement shoot to have a practice run and break the ice before your wedding day. It can help get an idea of what to expect and definitely helps you prepare for the day. But don’t worry I have photographed many couples who haven’t had a practice run too.

On the actual day you will be happy, high on adrenaline and may have had a few drinks. All these things also help to ease your nerves. My presence is very relaxed and I promise we’ll have a giggle and you will barely notice that we’ve done the shoot!

Every wedding photographer has a unique personality & style  and I recommend booking the one that you vibe with the most. Your photographer will be an important part of the biggest day of your life so it’s important that you feel comfortable.

Relaxed and informal

My approach is relaxed and informal, which means that the emphasis is on natural images, rather than lots of posed ones. Yes I do do those too but I chose a specific time for the formal images which is least disruptive to the flow of the day.

15 years of experience

My all round experience in photography, spanning 15 years, means that I know how to deal with pretty much any situation in a professional manner. My extensive experience of weddings means that I am confident in handling the day and I know what to expect and when. Aside from that I am pretty forensic in my approach and shoot LOTS of images, capturing the tiniest of details, which can really add to the story of your day.

Often wedding photographers can be defined by their editing style too – mine is colourful and inspired by film photography so it has an analogue feel to it.

If you are after natural, storytelling images with a colourful & vintage feel then please do get it touch!

Usually I arrange a video chat first. Then, when you are ready, I can send you out a booking form to fill out all of your details, along with an invoice for the deposit. The booking is confirmed  on receipt of the form & deposit, which is 25% of your booking fee.

Yes! Please contact me for a personal quote. I keep my extra charges as low as possible. If I have friends & family local to your wedding then the additional costs will be reduced.

My turnaround time can vary during the season from 2 weeks up to 6 weeks. I’ll send you a few sneak peeks in the meantime!

Yes please! Often wedding venues are very far away from main town centres & shops (especially in Devon) so it can be hard to get a good meal otherwise. Therefore the more food I have the more fuel I have for taking lots and lots of images of your day. Tea & Coffee is always welcome too!

My main wedding day galleries (the Simply Starling package) can range between 500 – 1000 images. This is crazily only a small percentage of what I actually capture in a day!! I take thousands of images (many very repetitive) just to make sure that I don’t miss anything important.

Please drop me a line if you’d like to view a login gallery so you get a feel for a full day.

Yes, I can do. I have other photographers that second shoot for me from time to time. This is great if you are planing a big wedding or want to spend longer on couple photos during the day. It also means that we can be in two places whilst you get ready, so you can both have fun looking back on the part of the day which you didn’t share.

Yes, of course! I have gorgeous, fine art & eco friendly options for both. I source my albums from Folio Albums, check out their beautiful designs here – https://www.folioalbums.com/

Yes, I have personal liability insurance up to £5 million. Happy to send you or the venue a copy of my certificate if required.

Emma was a godsend for our wedding!

We never expected such a service from a photographer, but there is a clear indication that Emma truly cares and is passionate about what she does. We cannot thank her enough.
