Devon Wedding Photographer - Emma Stoner Wedding Photography

River Cottage is one of my favourite Devon wedding venues. With it’s rolling green hills and quaint farmhouse, it’s the perfect location for any season.

The last wedding I photographed here was Naomi & Hamish’s late summer celebration, and a sun-kissed affair it was. See the pictures here. Amy & Martyn’s day was quite different. They were blessed with a downpour of torrential rain! Certainly good for the flowers & plants and it didn’t damper anyone’s spirits. The happy couple took the September showers in their stride. This was one chilled out Bride & Groom that I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with.

I first met Amy at the River Cottage Open Day last April. She booked me there and then, along with a few other local suppliers. I was really looking forward to her wedding day as I always love September weddings and I knew it would be stunning at River Cottage. When I arrived it was super-cosy with a wood-fire burning, the window spattered with raindrops and early autumn apples were sat in fruit bowls. As usual, the tractor was ferrying guests too and fro so I caught up with it doing the rounds and captured a few shots of guests trying to dodge the rain & mud! Amy was putting the finishing touches to her wedding attire in one of the cosy rooms in the farmhouse, along with her mother and daughter. She is a truly stunning bride and looked gorgeous in her Suzanne Neville gown.

The couple were officially wed in the main barn at River Cottage. Afterwards everyone dashed back over to the farmhouse to cuddle up beside the fire! I insisted on an outdoor confetti shot, much to the horror of some of the guests!! It was heaps of fun though in the end, the colourful umbrellas really making the shot.

Amy & Martyn were more than happy for a stroll around in the rain for their wedding pics. We visited the yurt too. This was the perfect spot later for tea & cake and super warm with the woodburner going. I had the best time with these guys. It was a lovely wedding, warm and welcoming despite the drizzly weather.
