Naomi & Hamish’s River Cottage wedding was a delightfully down-to-earth occasion. Hamish is a big fan of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall so this was the obvious choice of venue and suited them totally.
In the lead-up to the wedding we were discussing photo ideas and they were super excited about pictures with the pigs & chickens at the farm… Naomi really took it in her stride when the pigs splattered mud all over her.. what a cool bride!! They definitely took a very relaxed approach to their day and there was a lovely vibe in the air. All the guests received a very personal touch from the couple, who had printed out a photograph depicting happy times together. This charming detail definitely added to the warm & friendly atmosphere of this wedding.
I absolutely loved Naomi’s vintage second-hand gown which she had altered for the day. The colour palette of this wedding was really simple & elegant, with the bride & bridesmaids in a subtle gold tones. It really suited the rustic chic of the wedding and venue. A star of the day was their little baby Florence who sported several outfits throughout the occasion! The most decadent being her full length Victorian Christening gown. She enjoyed feeds throughout the day and Naomi had no problem balancing breast-feeding on demand with being a bride… truly inspirational 🙂 An even more organic approach to food was happening outside the dining hall, with the ginger cottage cat hunting and eating birds throughout the day!
For the speeches everyone crowded into the main hall and then outside for sparklers and toasted marshmallows. A ceilidh band started the evening celebrations, with Naomi & Hamish leading their friends for the first dance. Much fun & dancing continued in the main hall with chilling and tea in the yurt outside. A folky end to a folksy day! Congratulations again guys… you did River Cottage HQ proud!
