Here’s a gorgeous winter solstice wedding to give you some festive cheer! This one is from the archive – Leila & Paul, 21st December 2012. 21/12/12 was quite an ominous date as the mayans predicted the end of the world as we know it so many were expecting an apocalypse. I think of this as my end of the world wedding and we survived to tell the tale!
Leila & Paul held their festive winter wedding at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, a beautiful and iconic Victorian Hotel in London. The interiors of this hotel are pretty epic and in winter this venue looks even prettier than usual as the warm tones of the decor lend themselves to a Christmassy feel. I have shot three weddings here and each of the rooms I have visited have been very unique in their splendour. The room that these two were staying in was pretty awesome as it overlooked the train platform at Kings Cross. Check out the views in their prep photos. I love taking couple photos here as you can really capture the urban hustle & bustle as people race to catch their trains… Such an iconic London spot, you can be really creative.
Nowadays I work mainly as a Devon wedding photographer but I do travel further afield too.
