It’s a beautiful frosty day today here in Totnes, Devon and those long, hot summer days seem a long way off. This wedding takes us back to mid June last year, a glorious day in the gardens of Hartland Abbey. Anna & Will had a small, intimate outdoor wedding ceremony here and booked me for a few hours to cover the wedding and reception. There were still some covid restrictions in place at this point so the guest numbers were low and the wedding had a lovely family vibe to it. The chairs were decorated with colourful, rainbow ribbons and handmade bunting and baubles hung from the trees. Wedding guests came in colourful attire, giving the whole occasion a festival feel. The cutest guest of all was of course Rosie, Anna & Will’s little baby girl. She very much enjoyed playing with all the colourful decorations throughout the day! One unique addition to this wedding was having streamers instead of confetti – a lovely alternative and great for photos. After the ceremony guests enjoyed milling around on the lawns here, soaking up the sun along with champagne and speeches.
What a gorgeous day, it was so lovely to be a part of it and to be back in the swing of things post pandemic. Lila and I also very much enjoyed watching the series Malory Towers, which was shot on location here.
