Roscarrock Wedding Photographer

Wow! This is one awesome wedding… I’m totally biased as I love festival weddings and I adore Cornwall.

Lynsey & Dirk’s Roscarrock festival wedding combines both with some incredible sea themed details. It was a colourful sun drenched day, with a huge tipi overlooking the sea in Port Isaac. The setting, Roscarrock, was apparently Winston Graham’s inspiration for his Poldark books and was used in the 1975 series… Anyone who is missing their Sunday night dose will love this slice of Cornish history. It is bought to life with a joy-filled array of colour, contemporary design and back to nature vibes.

Lynsey & Dirk love to sail, so of course they had to be wed by the sea… Their seating plan announced ‘Set Sail for your Seats!’ The handfasting ceremony was outside and looking out to the sparkling shores of Port Quin, a tiny neighbouring fishing village. Guests were invited to decorate the wedding arch with colourful flowers, a lovely touch. After the ceremony, everyone gathered to create a confetti tunnel for the bride & groom to walk through as they entered the gardens.

My favourite part of the day was our trip down the the beach at Port Quin. This is a magical little cove with some classic Cornish rocks jutting out into the sea. We had a lovely walk around the headland before returning to the venue. Another highlight was the incredible sunset at Roscarrock, guests lined up on the walls in the garden to watch the sun go down. Afterwards there was a bit of fire-spinning to ‘Perfect Day’ by Lou Reed – a fitting soundtrack for a truly amazing day! I had to drag myself away at the end of it…

Congratulations again to Lynsey & Dirk and top prizes for creativity… the styling for this wedding was absolutely stunning. Lynsey perfected everything, even down to the colours of the napkins. Her own company is called Wild Wool and you can see more of her own creations here.
