Jenny & Gavin | Wedding Photography at Splottsmoor Farm
When Jenny & Gavin contacted me in autumn 2017, I was super-excited to hear that they were planning a wedding at Splottsmoor Farm in Glastonbury. I’m a Glastonbury girl at heart and I absolutely love this venue. The surrounding landscape has a magical quality to it and Hilary and her family offer a very warm welcome.
In keeping with tradition, the couple opted for a church ceremony at nearby Pilton Church, where Jenny’s parents and grandparents had also been married. Everyone then headed back to Splottsmoor to enjoy canapes amongst the apple trees in true Somerset style. In the neighbouring field, the marquee had been set-up for the wedding breakfast. The decor was colourful, with a travel-inspired theme to it. This matched the bold & bright flowers and wedding attire. Jenny’s bridesmaids wore red and the groomsmen wore bold orange ties. Luckily for them, it was a sunny day so they got to wear orange matching sunglasses too!
There is something so quintessentially English about this cute country wedding – the rolling green hills, the village church, the rustic farmhouse, all infused with a mad splash of colour! That’s what I love about Splottsmoor, it’s unassuming but it definitely has an eccentric side. The true spirit of Glastonbury. This venue really allowed the couple to put their own stamp on their wedding day, whilst adhering to more traditional elements.
I had so much fun capturing this colourful day, along with my second shooter Alice Whitby. Jenny & Gavin were great company and we both felt really at home with them. I left just as the stars were coming out, Glastonbury Tor silhouetted against the night sky. It was a perfect end to a beautiful day.
