Amy & Dan | Monks Withecombe Dartmoor | Devon Wedding Photographer
Amy & Dan booked me as a Devon wedding photographer to photograph their autumn wedding, held at Monks Withecombe Dartmoor on September 17th. The wedding was a true Dartmoor adventure! Wild swimming was the first call of the day as Dan and the boys headed out to a nearby river for a quick dip. Meanwhile, Amy enjoyed the rustic charm of a nearby country cottage. Her mum was busy crafting the bridal bouquet, whilst the girls enjoyed champagne in the sunshine before heading to the venue… the wedding bus didn’t pick them up but they made it in the end!!
After the ceremony Amy surprised her new husband with an African drumming band who kept everyone entertained! After such an incredible performance there was barely any time for outdoor games before everyone settled down for food.
The decor inside Amy & Dan’s marquee really worked well with the venue. They took their inspiration from nature – with tables named after animals and green hanging bouquets. Continuing the celtic feel after dinner was a Cornish Ceilidh band who got everyone on the dance floor! I tried to not get too squashed in the middle of the scrum… outside a full moon was shining brightly as people gathered around a fire to toast marshmallows and the happy couple ???? Congratulations again guys… such a gorgeous, fun packed country wedding!
This wedding was shot with second shooter Chris Quick. If you’d like more info on this beautiful, rustic Dartmoor venue ‘Monks Withecombe’, then please go to http://www.weddingsatmonks.co.uk.
