Battleford Farm Wedding Photographer.
Last year marked 10 years of being a wedding photographer in Devon. That’s a whole decade working within this beautiful landscape, with its rugged moors, beautiful coastline and rolling green hills. Needless to say, I’ve photographed a lot of weddings here so it’s always great to discover new venues. Battleford Farm is an especially great find as it’s very local to me in Totnes. It’s a gorgeous space, with a ceremony field surrounded by oak trees, a neighbouring field with far-reaching Devon views and large barn, perfect for dining.
When Harriet and Daniel first got in touch, I knew we would get on well. They were familiar with my work for Riverford and are both passionate about organic food & farming. Before their wedding day I took some portraits of them both, part engagement shoot and part work portraits. We had a lovely time getting to know each other and I knew that their wedding day would be very special.
On the day itself, it was wonderful to see all of their heartfelt personal touches — colourful ribbons adorning the orchard, homemade bunting, and the most beautiful colour palette of oranges, pinks, and yellows. It felt perfect for early August, at the start of harvest season, as the sun begins to take on a warmer glow and hints at the autumn days to come. One of my favourite memories from the day is everyone helping to turn the room around after food and before dancing, a proper wedding DIY moment which captured the community-spirited nature of the day.
Congratulations again to Harriet & Daniel – an awesome day for an awesome couple!
