From the stunning Devon coastline to a beautiful local woodland… Dion & Dave’s wedding reception was held at Middle Coombe Farm in Tiverton. I’ve photographed lots of weddings here and it’s an absolute favourite venue of mine. I knew the wedding would be special as I’d had such a laugh with Dion & Dave every-time we met up! Dion is a very creative lady and she harnessed her special talents in creating lots of beautiful touches for her wedding day, including growing her own flowers for her the occasion. The flowers paled in comparison to her table centrepieces though, which were absolutely incredible – large glass terrariums or “little worlds” as Dion calls them. Each of these featured tiny figurines representing Dion & her family depicted in different scenes… Guests had lots of fun spotting who was who! One even featured the bride & groom with their wedding car which was so perfectly replicated that it even had a matching interior!!

One of my favourite moments of the day was when Dion gave her bridal speech… It was the most fun & creative speech I have ever heard! She based it on the popular children’s book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and aptly renamed it ‘We’re going on a Dave Hunt!’ Guests were entertained with hilarious tales of failed Tinder dates and a love story that spans 18 years. It’s wonderful that Dion & Dave re-met in the end as they make a truly fantastic pair!

Check out these pics for tonnes of inspiration on how to do a handmade wedding with style. Dion & Dave described their wedding as “a year long project rather than a one day party”. With such a creative spark no doubt the future will be full of surprises. Congratulations again guys… it was fab to be part of your wedding 🙂

Here’s a little feedback from Dion & Dave about their wedding photography –

“Lovely Emma Stoner, who we found online and saw she had photographed at the Middle Combe before. We loved her style and the natural shots. A funny engagement shoot at Hestercombe Gardens in the winter with her shouting “touch noses” while we balanced on a rock over a stream confirmed we had made the right choice.”
