6th February 2014. On Thursday I witnessed the evacuation of West Yeo Farm in Moorland. I met the farmer, James Winslade two days earlier and photographed some of the flooding to his land and property. Within a couple of days the water level rose so dramatically that he had to employ the help of local farmers to move 550 cattle to drier ground. Along with the damage to his land, two properties were also hit in the floods. One is his family home and the other belongs to his parents. His parents house is 200 years old and the land that it occupies has had a house standing on it since the doomsday book. They have never seen floods like this. Last year James lost £163,000 due to flooding and this year it looks to be much worse. It was so sad watching him round up the herd and abandon his home.
