18th February 2012. Address: An event is being organised for the 2nd of March to mark the 50th anniversary event of the Crawdaddy Club. Established in 1962 The Crawdaddy Club, Richmond was, alongside The Eel Pie Hotel in Twickenham, on the forefront of Britain’s R&B music scene. On a par with The Cavern Club in Liverpool, the home of The Beatles and the Liverpool sound, The Crawdaddy was The Rolling Stones first residency and helped to launch the early careers of such musical legends as Eric Clapton with The Yardbirds, Paul Jones with Manfred Mann, Rod Stewart, Long john Baldry, Ray Davies before he started and The Kinks amongst many others.
